Information Overload: How A Little Word Can Reduce The Stress
I had the pleasure of speaking with Judy Hoberman on her radio show Selling in a Skirt on the Women to Women Network. The topic of this show, What We Consume Determines How We Live, was information overload. She asked about the impact of the massive volume of information that we are confronted with on a daily basis. Not only the information that is being thrown at us, but also the difference of opinions. For example, information about healthy food– we hear about how fat-free, sugar-free, low-sodium, paleo, low-carb, high-carb, plant-based, or high-protein diets are the best for us. Yet, everyday new research comes out which contradicts a previous recommendation. How do we know what to believe?
One way to cut through information overload is to have clear definitions of the words we use everyday.
The other way is to go directly to the source. The definition of food has nothing to do with health. If food as a word doesn’t consider health, how can you possibly know what is healthy?
Nouri, is the word that cuts through all the jargon and goes to the source. Nouri connects what we eat to how it is grown, produced, prepared and impacts our health. It’s a one-stop shop of information. Nouri is non-chemically treated, non-genetically modified, unprocessed food that strengthens your immune system, promotes energy and reduces the risk of illness and diseases. That’s a lot of responsibility in one little word, and that makes making the choice on what to eat incredibly easy. Now all you need to do when in a restaurant, at the grocery store, at a conference dinner, or coffee shop is ask yourself “is it nouri, and if not, is it worth the damage?” Now that’s management of information overload!
Judy and I had a great conversation. We touched on number of topics including hunting for food at the airport, filtering volumes of information, and growing your business. Listen to the show here.
